Introduction
Given the new demands within the European convergence process contained in the LOM-LOU and other recent regulations, several initiatives have been launched to enable the universities and their schools face different stages of success. One of the requirements in this new context of higher education is the need to develop systems to schools, ensuring the quality of studies offered. Precisely the main objective set by the national agency ANECA and the regional agency ACSUG within the FIDES-AUDIT calling program is to "given support to the Galician universities in the systematic design and implementation of quality assurance procedures. "
In this calling one of the participants from the Vigo University is the Escola Superior de Enxeñería Informática (ESEI). The ESEI is the assigned center for the Intelligent and Adaptable Software Systems doctoral program. We can not speak therefore of a Quality Assurance System for the doctorate itself , but of a Quality Assurance System in the center whose scope extends to all degree courses in it.
The Quality Assurance System of the centers of the University of Vigo
The scope of the Quality Assurance Internal System (SGIC from the Spanish acronym) on the centers of the Vigo University includes all degrees offered at each center (degrees, masters and doctorates) as shown explicitly stated to over all documents that comprise it.
The design of this SGIC has been prepared according to the principles outlined in the accreditation model of new titles, and based on the proposed program and ACSUG ANECA FIDES_AUDIT. Will be evaluated by ACSUG and, once implemented, will undergo a certification process for it. Therefore, the availability of certified SGIC this center will facilitate future verification of college degrees, as the SGIC policy meets the requirements for approval and registration of undergraduate, master's and doctorate.
System design internal quality assurance forms an essential element in the political and educational activities of the center, allowing you to determine in advance the objectives to be achieved as a result of its implementation. So the basic objectives of the center are SGIC ensure the quality of all qualifications for which it is responsible, masters and doctoral degrees, checking and improving where deemed necessary, their training programs based on the needs and expectations of its stakeholders to which will keep them informed and constantly updated itself SGIC.
